MINDFUL FACILITATION SKILLS FOR ETHICALLY ENGAGING RACE & OTHER MARGINALIZED IDENTITIES
This workshop will bridge the gap between mere cultural awareness and cross-cultural engagement skills. Participants will gain a skill set to apply the ethical principles which call for us to bridge barriers in exploring experiences of marginalized identities. 3 Ethics CE credits are available.

PRESENTER: DONNA HARRIS, LCSW, CGP
Donna Harris (she/her) is the Director of Intercultural Counseling, LLC a private practice located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia where she provides psychotherapy to individuals, groups and couples. She is certified in relational psychoanalysis, group psychotherapy and Mindful facilitation of cross-cultural encounters. In addition, she is on faculty at Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Service & Social Research, the Eastern Group Psychotherapy Society and recently joined the faculty at the Institute of Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia. In her spare time, she conducts customized workshops in Mindful Facilitation and serves on the Board of the Philadelphia Area Group Psychotherapy Society.

From attendance at this virtual event, participants will be able to:
1. Describe differences between Cultural Competency and Cultural Responsiveness
2. Apply Ethical Standards of Cultural Competency to clinical interventions
3. Discuss ethical concerns related to engaging people with marginalized identities
4. Practice Responsive Listening with individuals and groups
5. Explore the impact and intent of participants’ communications.
6. Apply Mindful Reflection & Inquiry interventions for individuals & groups
